9/11 Tribute: You’ll Never Walk Alone – Randy Elvis Walker
The 10th anniverarsy of 9/11 was a somber occasion. Hours of TV programming. Hundreds of internet references and YouTube videos. Unlike commercial TV, content on the internet will be available whenever you want it, for a long time to come. We thought we should add a few of our favorite singers and their music to the collective body of work encouraging people to ‘remember the past.’
This video has a Gospel sound track, sung by one of America’s finest Elvis Tribute Artists. He doesn’t like the term “impersonator,” because it implies false information. A tribute artist is an entertainer with an unique talent that embles him/her to respectfully ‘walk in the shoes’ of the original. Each tribute artist is an ORIGINAL in their own right.
If Elvis was still alive, and he could still sing, he’d have chosen a song as his tribute to 9/11 that inspired hope for the future. Randy Elvis Walker believes he would have chosen – “You’ll Never Walk Alone” a show tune from the 1945 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel.
Though many people think it is a Gospel song, it’s become a modern sporting anthem with great emotion. The song is used in this video to express the opinion that we are all in this together. It is a world of good and evil. No middle ground. Good is tolerant. Evil is relentless. Good is, for the most part, defensive. Evil is extremely offensive.
